Indian smartphone maker Micromax is all geared to unveil a new affordable handset today at its event in New Delhi. While the media invite sent by the company doesn't state as to what the company has up its sleeves for the event, but a spokesperson from the company has confirmed that "the company will unveil a new affordable smartphone."
Earlier last week its Yu brand launched the Yureka Plus smartphone based on the latest Cyanogen OS 12 for a price of Rs 9,999. Micromax spokesperson has not shared any pricing details of the phone. The invite, however, reads: "Micromax introduces a new level of multitasking with Vineet taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics." The company is also conducting an open sale of its Canvas Spark smartphone on July 27 and 28 on e-commerce giant Snapdeal after overwhelming sales of the handset that was launched in April. The budget smartphone costs Rs 4,999.
