Xiaomi recently launched its Mi Note 2 smartphone with a dual-curved display, along with the Mi Mix 'concept' smartphone having an almost bezel-less screen. And now, speculations for the company's rumoured Redmi 4 smartphone have started popping up.. Both the images and specifications of the Redmi 4 (or Xiaomi 'Red Rice 4') have been listed on a Chinese telecom company website called TianYi.
As per the listing, Xiaomi Redmi 4 will feature a 5-inch display. It's also expected to have a 13MP rear camera (with LED flash) and a 5MP front-facing snapper. The smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of in-built storage, along with a 4,000mAh battery. It's expected to come in three colour variants - Silver, Grey and Gold. Going by the images, Xiaomi Redmi 4 will have a completely overhauled design as compared to the Redmi 3.
The images show a rear mounted fingerprint sensor below the camera and LED flash. The front has three capacitive buttons below the display, along with a front-facing camera and sensors on top.
It is worth mentioning that the design of Redmi 4 goes in line with what we saw in the leaked images last month. The smartphone has been already certified by Tenaa. Some of the other rumoured specifications also a Full HD resolution display and MIUI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Xiaomi already launched the rumoured Redmi 4's elder sibling, the Redmi Note 4 in China. The handset features a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution. Powering the handset is a 2.1GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM. It offers 16GB/64GB internal storage which can be expanded further by installing microSD cards. With a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, a 4,100mAh battery rounds off the spec sheet.
