OnePlus 4 with Snapdragon 830 processor reportedly launching mid-2017

Several reports in the past couple of weeks have been suggesting that OnePlus will launch a minor upgrade to the OnePlus 3 (review) smartphone soon. The phone is rumoured to be called the OnePlus 3T, and is expected to arrive with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. The company?s fourth flagship, the OnePlus 4 is expected to launch next year, which should bring major improvements. Now a new report from China has revealed a few details regarding the OnePlus 4.
According to a post on Weibo, the OnePlus 4 will be unveiled in June or July next year. The post further suggests that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm?s upcoming Snapdragon 830 SoC, which is going to be produced by Samsung?s chip-making division. The tipster didn?t reveal any other specifications of the device.
As per the earlier reports, the Snapdragon 830 processor on the OnePlus 4 will be clocked at 3GHz, slightly slower than the rumoured top 2.3GHz clock speed of the SoC. It will come with an Adreno 620 GPU, a 4,000mAh battery, and boot Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. In a Twitter poll recently, the company?s co-founder Carl Pei teased the possibility of retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack for the OnePlus 4.
