Gionee has launched its new smartphone in the P series - P7 Max in India. Priced at Rs 13,999, the smartphone will be available starting today across stores. The device supports dual-SIM functionality and runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box. It features a 5.5-inch HD 720x1280 pixels resolution display and is backed by a 2.2GHz MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor. Clubbed with a 3GB RAM, the P7 Max has 32GB of inbuilt storage with microSD card support of up to 128GB. On the camera front, the smartphone features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. It also sports a 3,100mAh battery.
Other features under the hood include auto call record, mobile anti-theft software, compass, smart gesture (pause alarm, black screen gesture, smart vibration reminder, smart bright screen, double click wakeup), mood wallpapers, and child mode among others.
At the price point mentioned, the smartphone competes with Motorola's Moto G4 Plus and Samsung's Samsung Galaxy On8 . Interestingly, the company had launched the P7 Max in Nepal priced at NPR 21,999 earlier this month. Gionee had recently launched its selfie-focused smartphone - S6s in India. Priced at Rs 17,999, the handset is exclusively available on Amazon. The high point of the smartphone is its 8MP front camera which promises to offer perfect selfies.
In terms of specifications, the S6s features similar specifications as the P7 Max. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920x1820 pixel resolution. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek processor.
