Microsoft updates Surface Book with Intel Core i7 processor

Microsoft at its October 26 NYC event introduced an upgraded version of its Surface Book laptop. Called 'Microsoft Surface Book i7' or the 'Surface Book with Performance Base', the laptop features improved battery life, processing power and is priced higher than the current-generation Surface Book models launched.
The new Surface Book, as per the company, is available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB inbuilt storage configurations for $2399, $2799, and $3299, respectively. The upgraded laptop will be available starting November 10, however, interested users can pre-order the device from the Microsoft Store website. All of them are powered by Intel Core i7 processor. The company has also not mentioned any details on the India price and availability.
In terms of design, the upgraded Microsoft Surface Book looks the same. Under-the-hood, the laptop features a redesigned cooling system with an additional fan. Besides the Intel Core i7 processor, the laptop sports a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M GPU and a bigger battery that is said to run for 16 hours in ideal conditions. The older version is said to run for 12 hours. The new Microsoft Surface Book i7 also weighs slightly heavier than its older versions. The Surface Book with Performance Base runs on Windows 10 OS and sports a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with 3000x2000 pixels. It also has a 5MP front-facing camera with Windows Hello face sign-in support, an 8MP rear autofocus camera and Stereo speakers powered by Dolby audio Audio Premium technology.
On the connectivity front, the new Microsoft Surface Book features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader, Mini Displayport and Surface Connect port. The announcement of the Microsoft Surface Book with Performance base comes just a day before the launch of the new MacBook Pro by Apple.
